Does Semco Construction use Engineered Foundations?
Engineered foundations are different than SEMCO’s uses. We use a Stem Wall Footing Foundation that costs more to put in than an engineered foundation. Here is some information about the foundations that SEMCO uses –
Stem Wall Footing Foundations in Oklahoma – stem wall footing foundations are a popular, robust foundation choice, especially for red clay soils, featuring a concrete footing with vertical rebar connecting to a concrete stem wall, all tied together with continuous rebar and anchor bolts to anchor framing, providing strength against shifting soil, wind, and potential seismic activity, with code requiring specific reinforcement like #4 rebar and depths below the frost line for stability.
This process takes a bit longer than the Monolithic Slab, but a more stable foundation will prevent other issues down the road that could arise with trusses or wall construction. When dealing with varying lot conditions, Stem-Walls are a much more consistent method of foundation construction.
